About Event

"The Sky Is Blue, But Toronto Is Bloor" — so read a sign at Honest Ed's, an iconic former Toronto discount store. Bloor Street is a sampling platter of Toronto. It's got our finest parks, our most eclectic neighborhoods, our most expensive shopping area, and our most majestic valley.

On this subway tour, we will see it all. We will meet at the Humber River, then board the subway together, getting off at three different stops before ending at Riverdale Park East. On the way you will learn about wooly mammoth bones, billion-year-old rocks, ancient river systems. We'll talk about Toronto's worst race riots and best musical era. All for the price of one subway fare! (We are taking advantage of the TTC's two hour free transfer.)

Location: The tour begins at the Hurricane Hazel Memorial Plaque, a very short walk down the stairs or escalator from Old Mill Station. The tour will end at Riverdale Park East, about a ten minute walk from Broadview Station.

Price: This tour operates on a pay-what-you-can basis. There is a $2 booking fee to secure your spot on the tour. You are responsible for your own subway fare. At the end of the tour, you can pay whatever you feel the tour was worth (cash or card both accepted). Most guests choose to pay between $25 - $40 per person.

Accessibility: this tour involves entry and exits of several subway stations, most of which (Keele, Christie, Bay, Broadview) have elevators, but one of which (Old Mill) does not. There are two long flights of stairs.
