About Event

Say It Out Loud is a cozy evening of honest, one-on-one conversations between high school students, university students, and local professionals. Hosted by GUIDER, a student-built platform supporting course planning, post-secondary pathways, and wellbeing for students across Waterloo Region, this isn't a panel or a Q&A. It's real conversation, no performing required.

The night opens with a quick round of introductions so you know who's in the room, then moves into small conversation circles where you can ask the questions you've actually been sitting on. Expect food, merch, partner booths, a bit of friendly bingo, and a genuinely warm room full of people who want to see you do well.

What to expect:

  • Small-group conversation circles with professionals, mentors, and university students

  • A quick open-mic style welcome so you know who you're talking to

  • Light refreshments

  • Partner booths and merch, open the whole evening

  • A cozy, low-pressure space, no stage, no script, just talk!

Who it's for: High school students in Waterloo Region, along with the professionals, mentors & university students joining as guests.

We are official event hosts with Waterloo Tech Week 2026, a celebration of what’s been built here, and what’s still to come. We’re building something great together. September 12-17, 2026. waterlootechweek.ca

About The Hosts

GUIDER is a youth-led initiative created by high school students in the Waterloo Region. We are building accessible, student-friendly guidance through technology, community, and real opportunities.

Formerly known as StudentGuidance.AI, GUIDER has grown beyond an AI chatbot into a broader student support platform designed to help students explore their futures, plan their academic pathways, discover scholarships and opportunities, connect with local resources, and make informed decisions with greater confidence.

Our mission is simple: guidance should be accessible, easy to understand, and available when students need it. We are building GUIDER for students, with students—because navigating school, careers, post-secondary education, and wellbeing should not feel overwhelming or isolating.

Built by students. Designed for students. Guided by community.

GUIDER is currently a student-led initiative working toward becoming an officially incorporated non-profit organization in Canada. At this time, GUIDER is not a registered charity, and contributions made to GUIDER are not eligible for charitable tax receipts. We are working toward formal incorporation and future charitable registration so that we can responsibly expand our impact and access additional funding opportunities. GUIDER is currently led by a student leadership team and supported by community mentors, partners, and volunteers. During this transition period, any funds received are used solely to support GUIDER’s mission and activities, including platform hosting, infrastructure, security, and maintenance; the development of student resources and tools; student workshops, events, and community initiatives; and outreach and opportunities for students across the Waterloo Region. We believe transparency is essential, and if you are interested in supporting GUIDER during this stage, please contact us directly at info@guiderai.ca. We will clearly explain how contributions are received, managed, and used before any contribution is made.
